About The Artist

Although her love for creating art began nearly 50 years ago, Dina’s commitment to becoming a professional artist followed a serious horseback riding accident that taught her that life is too precious to put one’s dreams on hold. Her paintings have been featured in The Washington Post and Horses In Art Magazine, she was an ArtsyShark Featured Artist and was named Nashville’s Artist Of The Month in July 2022. Her recent move to Southern New Mexico promises to bring new and exciting elements to her work. A devoted horsewoman and animal advocate, when not in the studio Dina spends her time surrounded by her husband and their many four-legged family members, enjoying the outdoors, reading, doing yoga, meditating, and gazing endlessly at the sky.

Dina D’Argo’s paintings have been featured in galleries, design showrooms, and private collections worldwide. She is represented by Third & Wall Art Group, and currently works from a studio at her home in rural New Mexico.

Artist Statement

The year 2020 brought, for me, the unexpected blessing of the abrupt interruption of sidewalk art festivals, art walks, and art-in-the-parks. Lost were all of the opportunities to make a modest living by creating small, affordable, or easily understood works of art. Grappling with the challenges of isolation, fear, and financial concerns, my first turning point came when a piece I had created as part of an introspective, self-soothing side project was chosen by The Washington Post for A “Best Art Of The Pandemic” feature. This began a deep dive into a more meaningful, vulnerable, and emotional shift in my studio practice and body of work.

What remains is what has always been at the core of my most authentic work: a deep commitment to expressing a spiritual oneness with the sacred Earth, and the eternal “wildness” that lives within us, connects us, and makes us whole. This new body of work is a return to that commitment.
